My Story

As Chief Executive of Carers UK I know the challenges that carers face and just how important it is to raise their profile and campaign for lasting change. During our 60th anniversary year we are undertaking a whole range of activities under the theme of Equality Today and Tomorrow to do just that.

There are two things that I am passionate about, my job and my dog! So it is little surprise that I have chosen to do my personal bit for carers this year alongside my loyal companion Millie. We are walking 60 miles in 30 days to raise awareness for unpaid carers. Please sup-pawt our efforts and help us raise (at least) £600 for Carers UK.

In the UK, there are 5.8 million people who are carers, supporting a loved one who is older, disabled, or seriously ill. I know first hand the impact that caring has on you and your family and how important it is to recognise yourself as a carer and to reach out for help and support.

Carers UK offers crucial support, information and advice to those in unpaid caring roles. More than just a community, Carers UK is also a driving force campaigning for positive change, committed to improving the lives of carers. And that's why my job and this challenge are so important to me - please help us along the way with a donation or show your support for carers and join me and Millie on a walk during April!
